Hannah Carter
Dr. Carter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine at UCSD. The Carter Lab develops and applies computational approaches to aid the interpretation of genetic variation and to advance precision cancer medicine. A major focus of the lab is on joint analysis of tumor and inherited genomes to uncover the role of genetic background in shaping cancer risk, somatic tumor evolution and therapeutic response. Her recent work investigates how the inherited immune system affects tumor genome evolution and the characteristics of the tumor immune microenvironment to identify opportunities and barriers for immunotherapy.
